Getting started

Using PlugPIN means allowing people to control your application with their smartphone. The good news is, it's as easily said as done.

Step 1

Between the <head> and </head> tags on your website, place the following line to include the PlugPIN script:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.plugpin.com/PLUGPIN.1.min.js"></script>

Your page will now prepare the PLUGPIN service when it is loaded. Next, we are going to create a receiver.

Step 2

When a controller attaches to the receiver we just created, or less technically put: when a user connects to your app, events will be triggered on the Receiver object that we have stored in the variable 'myFirstReceiver'. We can tell the receiver what we want it to do when the tap event get triggered. For this example we are going to have our application show the text 'tap'.

At the bottom of your page, create a section to add your script.

<script type="text/javascript">

</script>

Put the following code inside the tags to tell the PLUGPIN service you want a receiver

var myFirstReceiver = PLUGPIN.createReceiver( { 'notification' : 'large' } );

var alertText = function()
{
    alert( 'tap' );
};

myFirstReceiver.onTap( alertText );

Step 3

We are done.

All that is left is to test our app.
